"Christiana Kurtz loves to bake, but when her bake stand becomes too busy, her mother encourages her to move her business to the local market. Her new bake shop becomes so inundated with customers that the line blocks the leather and woodcraft shop next door, which is run by Jeff Stoltzfus. When Jeff complains that her stand is driving away business due to the lines, she complains to him that his personalization machine smells. Though their relationship starts off on bad footing, they eventually forge a friendship."
I've had so many people recommend the Amish Marketplace series to me. So I went ahead and picked up the audio book version to give it a shot. I'm so glad that I did! It was everything I look for in a romance book.
A strong and intelligent leading lady. A brooding, but kind man who has had his heart shattered before. Forbidden love. And several loving relatives determined to make sure our main couple finds happiness. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I do enjoy sweet romance stories. And this was definitely one of them.
I recommend this book as a summer read. The descriptions of life in the Amish countryside, the bustling market where Amish and non-Amish folk shop, and the strong bonds within the Amish families in the book make this a warm and fuzzy read. I look forward to reading the next book in the Amish Marketplace series! ~Narration~ I selected the audiobook version of The Bake Shop. My audiobook came from Zondervan and was narrated by Lauren Berst. I loved Berst's voice as she narrated The Bake Shop. She truly brought the characters to life and was great in making sure the reader was pulled into the story. My rating: ???
