"Christiana Kurtz loves to bake, but when her bake stand becomes too busy, her mother encourages her to move her business to the local market. Her new bake shop becomes so inundated with customers that the line blocks the leather and woodcraft shop next door, which is run by Jeff Stoltzfus. When Jeff complains that her stand is driving away business due to the lines, she complains to him that his personalization machine smells. Though their relationship starts off on bad footing, they eventually forge a friendship."
I've had so many people recommend the Amish Marketplace series to me. So I went ahead and picked up the audio book version to give it a shot. I'm so glad that I did! It was everything I look for in a romance book.

I'm happy to announce that I will be participating in Round 4 of Graphicsathon!
I participated for the first time this year in January and had a really good time reading graphic novels and seeing what other people were reading during the third round. I'm no longer working from home so I don't have as much time to read, but I'm looking forward to see how much of my TBR pile I can get done before the round is over. Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings. It's a fun way for bookworms to share the upcoming releases that they are most excited for.
One of the books I'm most excited for right now is The Nature of Small Birds. My goal this year was to expand the different types of genres that I read. I was good about it for the first part of the year, but not so much lately. I discovered this book on Goodreads a while back and I'm hoping that my local library will have this one soon. If they do, I better stock up on tissues. I have the feeling this one will make me cry.
"Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, everybody is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath just can't let go. Now that they’re in college, Cath must decide if she’s ready to start living her own life. But does she even want to if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?"
I had been looking forward to the Fangirl manga adaption ever since Viz announced its release. I know several fans of the original book and heard so many good things about the manga adaption so I was hyped for this release. In the end I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Lore Olympus is a webtoon I've been interested in for the longest time and it's finally being published! Even though I could legally read it for free online, my eyes really can't handle online reading anymore. LOL.
"Chaperones, suitors, and arranged marriages aren't only reserved for the heroines of a Jane Austen novel. They're just another walk in the park for this leading lady, who is on a mission to find her leading lad."
I've been reading Huda Fahmy's web comics for a while and I was so excited when my library finally bought a copy of her second graphic novel That Can Be Arranged. Fahmy is unapologetically Muslim. Many of her comics are about her experiences as an American Muslim and being a daughter of immigrants. Fahmy captures the good and the bad in a humorous and often lighthearted way. |
